Dale Laitinen is a signature member of the National Watercolor Society, and Watercolor West. In 1975 he graduated with a BA in Art from San Jose State University. He is a past juror of many national and regional exhibitions including Watercolor West, Kentucky Watercolor Society, Utah Watercolor Society, Watercolor Society of Oregon, Red River Watermedia Show, Magnum Opus and many others.
A painter of the contemporary landscape of California and the Western States, Dale Laitinen takes his cue from this topography. His hightly designed paintings feature both these natural subjects and what he calls the Engineered Landscape where he explores the visual interaction of this natural landscape with dams, roads, canals and powerhouses.
An active workshop instructor, Dale has traveled widely in bith the U.S. and abroad. He lives and maintains his paniting studio in Mountain Ranch, CA
